What Makes You Happy?

Here’s a quote from the book “Illusions”, by Richard Bach…

“In the path of our happiness shall we find the learning for which we have chosen this lifetime.”

That makes the question pretty simple, though perhaps the answer(s) won’t be.Β  What makes you happy? When are you the happiest? What are you most happy doing? Mind you, those are questions to ask one’s self, to meditate on, to consider deeply, if one so chooses.

Perhaps the answer rises quickly to the surface of your being, “I am the most happy when I am working in my garden.” Perhaps volunteering in ways that help others makes you exceedingly happy. Possibly walking your dog or being with your animals, caring for them, is your zen. Maybe you make a huge family dinner every Sunday for all those you love and that is your joy. For some, their joy is fixing cars. Some love running, exercise, body building. For others, it is writing stories, or poems. For some, it is being a musician, for others, it is listening to that music. On and on.

“In the path of our happiness shall we find the learning for which we have chosen this lifetime.”

So, if you’re of a mind to, ask yourself what really makes you happy, and you’re the only one who can answer that question for you. It’s something I’m thinking about for myself.
